Running bad HU really sucks

Not a real clever title I know but how crappy my Heads Up session went earlier is all that I can think about. I played about 1k hands, and I had a couple stechty hands but I also played a few hands really well. And as far as playing "the flow" I thought it was about the best Ive ever done it. Usually Ill 3bet too much or not enough, basically usually i jsut dont pay attention to the flow asmuch as i should, but today I did pretty well while I was playing 3 HU tables. Although I did lose $696.35 playing 1/2 HU, I am actually relatively happy with how I played. heres the slew of bigger pots i played in this session, youll notice I lost the majority of them. And I promise I'm not leaving any of them out, like if i had one big hand where I played like a donkey or whatever.........

well I guess nevermind, For some reason I cant seem to figure out how to get a link on my posts anymore, its driving me bonkers, I will ask my buddy Jon next time i talk to him then devote a whole post to just putting hand historys on there. Because I have allllot of big hands I want to post. I am writing now 2 days after the first paragraph. On Sunday I didnt really play any online poker, I basically sat around with my buddies and watched some college bball, I see alot of that happening again in the near future with march madness coming up. Even tho I am really not that Into college basketball these days ( mainly because Duke kinda sucks this year) I still love the raw emotion displayed in this tournament. College kids who are playing they're hearts out for nothing more than the thrill of victory. I love it. Anyway later on Sunday I went to my usual home game that happens every sunday. It's a .5/1 NLHE game with a $50max buyin. It sounds dumb I know but allowing a bigger buyin would just really decrease our players. Its a pretty competitive game, but it is a lot of fun with the cast of characters we seem to get eevry sunday. I took some pictures last sunday and I'm thinking about starting up a blog about it. But before I do that I have some work to do figuring out how to really utilize all this site can do. I can't even figure out how to put a freakin link on a post. But anyways on Sunday I ended up having my best sunday night card night ever for that game, up about $430.00, which for taht game is pretty sick, im not sure anyone has ever walked out with that much. I was getting some pretty lucky cards and really frustrating a couple of my buddies in the game. So that kinda of took the pain away from all the nasty beats I was taking on saturday night, but not really.
Its getting late and I dont really feel like going over the 1500 hand HU session I just put in. I would but i just spent an hour trying to learn how become a better " blogger" but that was a gigantic failure. I will say it was a good session $$ wise but I thought I played better on saturday when I lost 7hundo...ugh, thats poker I guess....... This is another poker quote I really should take to heart.

MTT's here I come

I said in my last post I was going to talk about my recent tourny success. So starting with about a month ago I'll list of my "scores". I dont exactly remember many details about all of these because i didnt have pokertracker working for my MTT's, but here we go. FT 69+6 6max NLHE table i got 3rd, for about 1400, lost a big coinflip at the end, but I was proud of myself for how I played this tourny, this was me really coming out of my shell, I really played this tourny to win it, and probably would of if i win a huge coinflip at end. On the Full tilt list there is a 31st in a FTOPS Pl holdem event. In that tournament I went out with AQhh vs AJdd in a pot that would of elevated me to top5-8 in chips with 30 people left and they were dropping like flys due to insane blinds. That one hurt, esp considering first was 36k and the score ive been waiting for.. But I also have alittle story for the 40k i got 19th in. There was about 20-21 people left and I noticed a buddy of mine I talk to quite a bit named ISPEWCHIPS was also in the tourny with a similar stack to mine, i beleive i had about 50k and and he had about 45k, above average stacks, but deep in those FT tournys it realyl doesnt mean a whole lot, its a big shove fest anyways. But anyways we got to talking and made a deal that we would take 20% of each others action in case one of us scored big, first beign 13k. But pretty much the next hand after deal was made I lost huge hand with AK against AA all in preflop in a spot i couldnt get a way from, and then was forced to get my litle remaining chips in neext hand with K10 vs AQ and didnt suckout. So that sucked for me and him, but ISPEWCHIPS ended up getting 4th place for about 5k, so that made me feel a lot better...
And the 1400 I won on UB for 2nd place was a joke, I entered HU play having the guy 2:1 and lost, Im really not happy about that one, actually i just got really pissed now thinking about it even. DAMNIT! It was my first time HU in a decent MTT and i got to anxious, didnt think things thru like I should and totally just rushed it...
Anyways theres my tourny success as of late, nothing big, but a couple good opportunities for big scores. My plan for March is to play a crapload of plus 10k prize pool MTT's and hopefully i can get a big ole score, and Ithink im gonna try as a personal goal to make it high up on FT MTT leaderboard for the month.. I am thinking about getting my 6max NLHE cash game back on also, yah know i just dont know, I'm so indecisive it will be a game time decision. But I HAVE to play a lot of something in March, I cant continue to be a bum like I have been.. this is a photo of me taken yesterday.....
Well it is Feb 28th and March 1st is tomorrow, and I think i am ready to roll, I will keep the blog updated.

I love poker.....I hate poker

It's been a while yet again, and a lot has gone down since the last time I posted. The laziness has definately continued by my standards, but some recent tourny success has really given me some motivation to play more. I dont remember all that has happened since the 6th or whenever my last post was, but all of the interesting stuff has happened lately.
As far as the cash game life goes I havent played a single hand of 6max in probably pushing 2 months now. And for me thats pretty sick, I made a living at that game for a year, and that was pretty much the only game i played NLHE 6max, thats it. So me making some pretty decent money over the course of the last month or so playing games im basically just starting is a big confidence booster for me. Pretty much all i have been doingon the HU scene is HU, mostly 1/2 as of late. And at times I play really well, most of the grinders at the 1/2 level wont play me anymore. I have been obliterating hu at the 1/2 level, I;m having poker tracker issues so i cant give exact num but i would predict high 20's BB/100. Oveer a pretty fair share of hands now...its hard to give a number but in the last 3 weeks about i bet you im up about 6k playing hu 1/2, and a little dabble with 3/6 one night. HOWEVER, this all comes with a but. I'mpretty sure im down close to 3k playing 2/4, which is frustrating. Because i shouldnt be playing 2/4 anyways with my roll. It is just getting sick, i mean ive taken about 4 shots at 2/4 in last month and i just run sooooo bad everytime, its like the poker gods just dont want me to move up....I'm just getting off a little mini session where i went of for not such a mini number. 1500 in a couple minutes almost, just sickening. I play pretty Aggro HU swings are worse, which i know but yet i still play 2/4 with only 12 buyins in my cash game acct? how dumb am I. My problem is patience and disclipline. I just try to get rich fast when all i really need to do is put down the fricken XBOX controller and just grind my ass off like everyone else has to. UGHUGH......
ANYWAYS, thats enough of my whining. I'll talk about my tourny success as of late in my next post.

Well, It's been a few weeks, and I've probably played about 4 days worth of poker in those few weeks, how sad is that...UGH...anyway nothing to crazy has happened, I did have a Glimmer of tourny success about a week 1/2 ago when I got 3rd in a 69+6$ 6 man MTT. I think it was a 5k garuntee. that got me about 1250$ It was the first time ive been deep in a tournament online and actually played " to win" u could say. I was making plays and squeezes, as compared to my usual ABC, im scared to go out looking like an idiot self. It really helped that it was a 6 handed tourny, I really feel so much more comfortable at a 6man table for some reason. My game at 9-10 man tables in cash and MTT's needs a lot of work. Other than that tourny I havent done much i suppose im up about $1500 playing my little mini sessions of HU in last coupel weeks, being up that for amount of hands Ive played and gettting 3rd in that tourny is pretty optimal considering how little ive actually done this last couple weeks, I have some issues i need to clear up and then hopefully I can hit poker hard again soon here. I dont really have any hands to post because i havent updated my poker tracker since FT had that big upgrade so i guess i cant imprt any hands. I think thats part of the reason why Im kinda switching to HU cash, becuse in HU cash all the software and PT are kinda uselesss i think, i think the idleminer could be useful just to let you know who the grinders are but for the most part HU is about " the flow" not what the guys pre flop raise % is. I've alays enjoyed playing poker, not dealing with all this software crap, i wish no one had it so i wouldnt have to have it either..
I'm considering just buying in to a couple of those FTOPS events, this coming week, I would of much rather satillite into them but obv im way to lazy to do that. Other than that i dont have to many plans as far as poker goes, I'll prolly jstu stick to playing HU cash and MTT's occasionaly...very boring post i know ill do better next time.

By the title of this post one would think that I had a bad day of playing today. But, as it turns out I actually had a really good $$ wise but i still find myself pissed off. Since my epiphany about how i just wanted to play HU and MTT's I have been doing pretty well, about 99% of that pretty well being HU nlhe. Yesterday I played about 1k hands of HU 1/2 switching off and on between 2-3 tables and I was fortunate to walk away +750$ or so. And honestly i didn't really even play that well, my PT was having problems so i lost most of the hand historys but I can definately remember some bad plays/calls I made. Specifically i remember one guy really getting to me, annoying the hell out of me and i think it was his goal, but i eventually hit a great spot on him and stackked him in a 650$ pot when he was drawing dead:))), theres nothing better than that. I think i stacked this guy like 4 times 80,80,80, 120? something like that anyways, after that I had about 1050$ at my 1/2hu table, and like 700 at the other so i was feeling pretty good about myself even tho iwas only up like 750 when it looked like i was up 13-1400..
Anyway on to today, i played about 1100 hands of HU and won $1256.15, so ive been running pretty well last couple days and have been fortunate enough to run into some donkeys, like today I played with donkey that was sent from the heavens to give me money i think. His name was repins1 and i won $802.05 just from him!, basically at one table also, after I had stacked him for the last time i had over $1100 at a hu 1/2 table, i was feeling pretty good about myself again. Playing a guy like this is why I'm begining to like HU so much, when ur a lot better than someone HU they basically have no chance if u sit there long enough, u really get the chance to exploit bad players at HU compared to having to watch other people crush them at times at ring games. But I understand the varience is probably pretty sick at HU esp the way I play, so I'm gonna try not to get to over confident from my recent HU dominence. Now onto why I'm pissed off, I was a little bored and wanted to play a tournament, so i hopped into the 24+2 12k gaurantee, which ended up being 18k and change. Anyway to make a long story short there was 772 people in it and i Made it to the final table and was about 5th in chips and not 3 hands into a guy 3x's it UTG and im sitting with QQ, blinds were 4k/8k with 1k ante and i had abotu 137k in front of me and this guy had about 160k, so beign there was already 45k in the pot i just shoved all in. I really thought about just calling and playing the flop because i really didnt wanna gamble like that when it was that early at the final table, BUT i shoved anyway and got insta-called by KK and lost and went out 9th earning me $335..first got 4500 by the way.. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! oh well, my time is coming to cash big in one of these things, lets just hope its like the 500k when it happens :))...just because im kinda proud of myself im going to post my stats for my HU play the last week or so.
NL $2 1v1: +$2665 in about 3k hands
NL $1 1v1: +$1900 in about 4k hands
my PT has been all screwed up so these numbers arent completely accurate but pretty close. I did put in a little mini session of .5/1 6max today on stars and lost like $30 and got bored with it and quit. Its just hard to go from playing HU to 6max, i just get a little to aggro.
